Who We Are
Founded in 1935, LSU Press is one of the nation’s most acclaimed scholarly publishers, recognized for four Pulitzer Prizes as well as numerous other prestigious awards. LSU Press publishes approximately 70 titles a year in subjects ranging from southern history and literature to environmental studies, poetry, and foodways. Also established in 1935, The Southern Review (TSR) receives national and international accolades for its poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art. Together we are a team of 19 dedicated staff, and we take seriously our mission to promote the achievements of our state and region and to educate readers about our culture and history.
What Will My Gift Support?
Your gift will go directly to the LSU Press Annual Fund or The Southern Review Annual Fund, both of which provide unrestricted, flexible use for the Press and TSR. These funds enable us to produce high-quality books and journal issues, price them competitively, and market them more broadly than we otherwise would be able to do. Your gifts will support author advances; publication of emerging writers in TSR; expanded reach of our marketing efforts; and top-notch book production and manufacturing.
Why Give?
As a mission-driven, nonprofit publisher, we rely on generous contributions from our supporters to attract the best authors, produce books and journal issues of exceptional quality, and publish scholarly and creative works that endure for generations. You are critical to our legacy and continued success, providing the resources we need to acquire and publish work that will make a difference.
